Researchers at the Centre for Peninsular Aquatic Genetic Resources, Kochi, developed a captivity breeding protocol for the black-collared yellow catfish from the Chalakudy river.
This breakthrough in breeding is part of conservation efforts for the species, which is classified as endangered by the IUCN Red List.
