This is a repeat order from Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (MDL), in collaboration with Naval Group of France.
Five of the original six submarines have been inducted, with the last one to be commissioned soon.
INS Arighaat, India’s second nuclear ballistic missile submarine, recently successfully fired a Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM).
The missile tested was the K4 SLBM, with a range of 3,500 km.
