Why in news
According to the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), Vehicles in Delhi contributed more to air pollution than stubble burning in neighbouring states between October November
Neighbouring districts: 34.97% of Delhi’s air pollution.
Delhi’s local sources: 30.34% of pollution, with vehicles being the largest contributor (51.5%).
Farm fires: Only 8.19% of the pollution.
The CSE calls for immediate action to reduce vehicle emissions as part of a broader effort to meet clean air standards in the region.
