Overall automobile retail sales in September fell by 9.26% year-on-year, according to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA).
Despite the festive season, consumer demand remains weak, leading to flat or negative growth.
Passenger vehicle dealers are experiencing inventory levels of 80-85 days, totaling about 7.9 lakh vehicles valued at ₹79,000 crore
Segment Performance
Two-Wheelers: Sales dropped by 8.51%.
Passenger Vehicles (PVs): Sales decreased by 18.81% year-on-year and 10.8% month-on-month, marking the fourth consecutive month of decline.
Commercial Vehicles (CVs): Sales fell by 10.45%.
Three-Wheelers and Tractors: These categories saw slight increases in sales, with growth of 0.66% and 14.69%, respectively.
