Why in news
Indian officials, including Ajit Doval and Samant Goel, received a U.S. court summons linked to a case filed by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of the banned Khalistani group Sikhs For Justice (SFJ).
The defendants have 21 days to respond to the summons issued on September 18.
The Indian government calls the allegations “unwarranted” and is currently investigating them through a high-level committee.
