On Tuesday, an anti-Naxal operation was conducted in the forests along the boundary of Dantewada and Bijapur districts in Chhattisgarh.
Nine Maoists were killed, including six women.
This operation brought the total number of alleged Maoists killed by security forces this year to over 150.
The operation was carried out by a joint team consisting of the District Reserve Guards (DRG), Bastar Fighters, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Security forces received a tip-off about the presence of Maoists from the PLGA Company No. 2 and the West Bastar and Darbha Division in a hilly, forested area under Kirandul police station in Dantewada district.
During a recent visit to Chhattisgarh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that Naxalism would be eliminated by March 2026.
