India will provide a total of $3.5 million (₹29 crore) for this initiative.
India hosted two VOGS (Voice of Global South) summits in 2023 to bolster the G-20 summit with a consensus among developing countries.
The current summit is scheduled ahead of the UN’s "Summit of the Future" in New York on September 22-23, which Prime Minister Modi is expected to attend.

Approximately 20 leaders from developing countries attended the summit, including the new interim leader of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus.
Over 123 countries participated at various levels.
China and Pakistan were not invited to the summit.
Criticism of the Current Global Order
Participants expressed concerns about the lack of progress in UN reforms and the unequal treatment of countries within the UN system.
Leaders emphasized the need to reform multilateral institutions to enhance their credibility.
