Nanjarayan Bird Sanctuary
Nanjarayan Tank Bird Sanctuary is a located in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu.
It was notified in 2022.
Significance: Provides habitat for numerous migratory and resident birds, contributing to biodiversity conservation.
It is a large shallow wetland.
The lake derived its name from King Nanjarayan who repaired and restored the lake during his reign
2. Kazhuveli Bird Sanctuary
Kazhuveli / Kaluveli Bird Sanctuary, is located in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu.
The sanctuary was notified in 2021
The sanctuary has the brackish shallow Kaluveli lake, which is connected to the Bay of Bengal by the brackish Uppukalli creek and the Edayanthittu Estuary
It lies in the Central Asian Flyway and hence is an important stopover site for migratory bird species
3. Tawa Reservoir
Tawa Reservoir is a reservoir on the Tawa River in central India.
It is located in Itarsi of Narmadapuram District of Madhya Pradesh
The reservoir was formed by the construction of the Tawa Dam
The dam provides for irrigation to several thousand hectares of farming land in Narmadapuram and Harda districts.
Reservoir forms the western boundary of Satpura National Park and Bori Wildlife Sanctuary
