Shiveluch is the northernmost active volcano in Kamchatka Krai, Russia.
It and Karymsky are Kamchatka's largest, most active and most continuously erupting volcanoes.
Kamchatka is home to 29 active volcanoes, part of a vast belt of Earth known as the “Ring of Fire”
There are three elements of the volcano: the stratovolcano Old Shiveluch; an ancient caldera; and the active Young Shiveluch.
Shiveluch, having erupted at least 60 times in the past 10,000 years.
