The existing structure at the Bhojshala complex in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh was constructed using the remains of a temple that existed earlier at the site, said the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in its scientific survey report, which was submitted to the Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court
The ASI said that based on the survey, conducted using technologies such as ground-penetrating radar and from archaeological remains studied during the investigation, the pre-existing structure “can be dated to the Paramara [dynasty] period”
Paramara dynasty
They ruled malwa region /central India
Capital city – Dharanagar.
The Paramaras of Malwa rose on the ruins of the Pratihara empire of Kanauj.
The Paramara or Pawar clan was supposed to have emerged from the Agnikund of Mount Abu.
It was founded by Upendra (Krishnaraja) at the beginning of the 9th century.
Siyaka II made it an independent kingdom.
Siyaka II succeeded the Rashtrakutas of Manyakheta after defeating Rashtrakuta King Khotigga.
Famous rulers: Siyaka II, Prithvi Vallabha, Sindhuraja, Bhoja, Naravarman, Mahalakadeva
The Harsola copper plates of Siyaka II mention a king called Akalavarsha.
Nava-sahasanka-charita mentions the story title ‘Paramar’
RajaBhoj was greatest in this dynasty (1018-1060).
Bhoja tried to regenerate Hindu society. He also fought against muslims.
He constructed Sanskrit college called Bhojshala at his capital.

Ayurveda Sangraha
Yukti Kalpataru
Samarangana Sutradhara(deals with architecture).
He was also a great builder and is believed to have been built 104 temples and also a beautiful lake known as Bhojpur Lake
The last Paramara king Mahalakadeva was defeated and killed by the army of Ayn al-Mulk Multani (Governor of Alauddin Khilji) in 1305 CE.
