Shinku La Pass and Tunnel
The Shinku La Pass is a mountain pass in India.
On the state boundary between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
It connects the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh with the Zanskar region of Ladakh.
The Shinku La Tunnel is a project under construction that will create a new route between the two regions.
The tunnel is expected to be completed by December 2025.
It will be the highest motorable tunnel in the world, at an elevation of 16,580 feet.
The tunnel will be 4.1 kilometers (2.5 miles) long.
The construction of the tunnel is expected to improve connectivity between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
