Candolleomyces albosquamosus
Candolleomyces albosquamosus is a newly discovered species of mushroom in the genus Candolleomyces.
It was first identified in 2023 in the Western Ghats of India.
Candolleomyces albosquamosus is a small, delicate mushroom with a honey-yellow cap and a white stem.
The cap is covered in white wooly scales, which is why the species is named albosquamosus, meaning "white scaly" in Latin.
The stem is slender and hollow, and it can grow up to 58 mm tall.
Candolleomyces albosquamosus grows on dead logs or bamboo culms in the natural forest.
It is a saprophytic fungus, meaning that it decomposes dead organic matter.
