Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP)
KKNPP is a nuclear power plant located in Kudankulam, Tamil Nadu, India.
It is the largest nuclear power plant in India.
With a planned of capacity of 6,000 megawatts (MW).
Construction on the KKNPP began in 2002, but faced several delays due to opposition from local fishermen and environmental activists.
The first two units of the plant, KKNPP-1 and KKNPP-2, were commissioned in 2014 and 2017.
Units KKNPP-3 and KKNPP-4 are currently under construction and are expected to be commissioned in 2023.
Units KKNPP-5 and KKNPP-6 are also planned, but their construction has not yet begun.
