This valley is reopened now , which closed due to shelling from Pakistan.
Mushkoh valley, in kargil’s Drass sector, Ladakh , the site of war in 1999.
Now a 130 km road is connects Mushkoh valey with Gurez valley .
Kaobal Gali the highest pass at an alttitude of 4166m in Gurez valley.
Earlier Gurez valley is highly prone to shelling from Pakistan, now its all cleared and road is open for tourists.
The road is maintained under Border Roads Organisation and at present is a fair-weather road.
The villages in Gurez valley have only log houses. There is no intervention of concrete.
It is also home to ibex, musk deer and marmots, endangered Himalayan yew.
