Issues Faced by Indian Workers
The Indian government should have taken the opportunity to address the serious issues facing workers in India, such as forced labour, modern-day slavery.
The Arab Gulf countries follow an exploitative labour system called the kafala system.
kafala system will ties migrant workers to their employers.
This system makes it difficult for migrant workers to leave their jobs or change employers, and it increases the risk of forced labour and modern-day slavery.
Portable insurance schemes are not enough.
Even in these days also, Workers are struggling for ,decent working conditions, equal pay, gender equality, the elimination of forced labour.

In India also workers in a number of industries, face forced labour and modern-day slavery.
According to the Walk Free Foundation, there are an estimated 27 million people trapped in modern-day slavery in G-20 countries, of whom 11 million are in India.
India has signed and ratified the ILO’s Forced Labour Convention known as C29.
Various indicators can be used to ascertain when a situation amounts to forced labour,
Restrictions on workers’ freedom of movement, withholding of wages or identity documents, physical or sexual violence, threats and intimidation or fraudulent debt.
Importance of workers rights
Economic development means not only creation of jobs but also working conditions in which one can work in freedom, safety and dignity.
The major socio-economic problem of India is that the majority of its citizens are struggling to earn a good living.
It is because of their problems, like poor quality of employment, insufficient and uncertain incomes, and poor working conditions.
