What is Shiyan 6 & Yuan Wang 5.
Both are Chinese research vessels anchored in the Sri lankan port.
Shi yan 6, carrying capacity is 1115 t DWT and current draught is reported to be 5.5 meters. Length overall (LOA) is 90.6 meters and width is 17 meters.
Yuan Wang 5 as one of China's latest generation space-tracking ships, used to monitor satellite, rocket and intercontinental ballistic missile launches. Several Indian media reports described it as a "dual-use spy ship".
Hambantota port
The Hambantota International Port is a deep water port in Hambantota, Sri Lanka.
Which has been leased to China on a 99-year lease.
Opened in 2010, it is Sri Lanka's second largest port.
In 2020, the port handled 1.8 million tonnes of cargo.
