The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) in India is in the process of designing an indigenous submersible called Matsya-6000.
It aims to take three Indians to a depth of 6,000 meters in the Indian Ocean.
The Matsya-6000 submersible will have multiple back-up safety measures for the crew.
It will feature a titanium enclosure, which is stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring ease of resurfacing from the depths of the ocean.
The submersible will also include syntactic foam for flotation and determining its location if it fails to resurface.

In light of the missing incident involving the Titan submersible, the NIOT plans to review and re-check all the safety measures incorporated in the Matsya-6000 mission.
This incident will prompt a reevaluation of the safety systems employed to ensure the crew's well-being during the dive.
