  • The "bone of contention" is a commonly used idiom that refers to a specific issue or subject of disagreement or conflict between two or more parties.

  • It represents the central point of contention or the primary cause of the disagreement in a particular situation or discussion.

  • The "Bali Paragraphs" are a set of points included in the G20 Leaders' Declaration during the G20 Summit held in Bali, Indonesia, in 2018

  • These paragraphs address issues related to global economic growth, trade, and investment.

  • Indian officials imported the "Bali Paragraphs" into India's G20 documents, emphasizing the effort put into formulating them.

  • The G20 is not a forum for security issues, but for addressing economic matters related to security concerns.

  • For instance, the impact of the Ukraine war on fuel, food, and fertilizer prices is discussed.

  • Indian Sherpa Amitabh Kant clarifies that developing countries did not cause the Ukraine conflict, and the war is not India's priority at the G20 summit.

  • b. Development Goals: Addressing development goals is a priority for India.

  • c. Digital Public Infrastructure: India highlights the importance of digital public infrastructure.

  • d. Gender-led Empowerment: Empowerment initiatives for gender equality are prioritized.

  • e. Reform of Multilateral Development Banks: India advocates for reforming multilateral development banks.
